Group 2 (alkaline earth metals) exam questions

Practise Group 2 as it appears in final A-level papers: equations and redox, reactivity explanations, compounds and pH, calculations, and the board-specific applications students often forget after Year 12.

AQA and OCR A cover different Group 2 details

AQA includes the Mg–Ba radius, first-ionisation-energy and melting-point content, hydroxide and sulfate solubility trends, the sulfate test, titanium extraction and specified uses. OCR A explicitly tests the s2 outer shell, reactions with oxygen, water and dilute acids, first and second ionisation energies, Group 2 oxides with water and the resulting alkalinity, plus compounds used as bases. The generator keeps those boundaries separate.
