Follow the electrons, not a remembered picture
A curly arrow represents movement of an electron pair. Start it at a lone pair, negative charge or bond, then finish it where the electron pair goes. In unfamiliar mechanisms, use the charges, dipoles and instructions in the question before trying to recall a memorised diagram.
